Alistair Baxter (Director Ecology) has just returned from giving evidence at a public inquiry for a site in Rother District located adjacent to Pevensey Levels SAC and Ramsar. Notwithstanding that Aspect Ecology had successfully satisfied Natural England, Environment Agency, the local Drainage Board and the LPA as to the proposals, such that they all held no objections, the main issues of maintaining water flow to the SAC and ensuring that the proposed mitigation, in the form of an enhanced SUDs (multi-level treatment train), was fit for purpose, were thoroughly aired.
