Last week our team was welcomed by Shotover Wildlife to take part in the first of our 2023 company volunteer days at Shotover Country Park SSSI. We spent the day restoring a number of vertical earth faces that will provide nesting places for various Hymenoptera (bees, wasps and ants), many of which are rare to Oxfordshire. We also cleared scrub and encroaching bracken from areas of acid grassland to allow the extent of management through mowing to be increased. It was a great opportunity to put our skills to use on a practical level and get our hands dirty with a range of tools, from mattocks to saws!
