Merry Christmas 2023 to all our clients and colleagues – see our round up of year here
December 2023
Merry Christmas to all our clients and colleagues. We are looking forward to the long break this year over the festive period to recharge our batteries ready for the New Year. 2023 has been a busy year and we have carried out a wide range of surveys. Looking at our records, in 2023:
- 126 Dormouse Surveys were completed, deploying 2111 tubes
- 405 reptile surveys were completed, deploying 6958 artificial refugia
- 289 bat surveys were completed, of which 181 were activity surveys and 108 were emergence/re-entry roost surveys. We deployed static bat detectors 460 times, hand-held detectors 821 times and IR cameras 234 times
- 46 Great Crested Newt population surveys were completed (alongside many more eDNA presence / absence surveys) during which some 3252 bottle traps deployed
Our thanks goes to all our clients who kindly commissioned us to carry out this work and subsequently supported us on the ground during the surveys.
Instead of sending Christmas cards, this year we have made donations to our chosen charities: Shelter, Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and the Banbury Foodbank.
We look forward to working with you in 2024. Merry Christmas from all at Aspect Ecology.
Please note our offices will be closed from lunchtime 22 December 2023 and we return in the New Year on 2 January 2024.
