Merry Christmas 2024 to all our clients and colleagues – see our round up of year here

December 2024

Merry Christmas to all our clients and colleagues. We are looking forward to a welcome break over the festive period to recharge our batteries ready for the New Year. 2024 has been a busy year and we have carried out a wide range of surveys. Looking at our records, in 2024:

  • 114 Dormouse Surveys were completed, deploying 2542 tubes
  • 487 reptile surveys were completed, deploying 6680 artificial refugia
  • 285 bat surveys were completed, of which 152 were activity surveys and 133 were emergence/re-entry roost surveys. We deployed static bat detectors 1277 times, hand-held detectors 1103 times and IR cameras 755 times
  • 77 Great Crested Newt surveys were completed. Of these 24 were population surveys, during which some 838 bottle traps deployed, and 53 were eDNA surveys across 161 ponds

Our thanks goes to all our clients who kindly commissioned us to carry out this work and subsequently supported us on the ground during the surveys.

Instead of sending Christmas cards, this year we have made donations to our chosen charities: Shelter, Katherine House Hospice (Oxfordshire) and the Banbury Foodbank.

We look forward to working with you in 2025. Merry Christmas from all at Aspect Ecology.

Please note our offices will be closed from lunchtime 24 December 2024 and we return in the New Year on 2 January 2025.
