Planning Permission granted at appeal.
Planning Permission granted at appeal following evidence presented by Alistair Baxter (Ecology Director) as an expert witness at a public inquiry.
The scheme in Berkshire proposed new housing at the site of a waste transfer station located adjacent to a woodland designated as a Local Wildlife Site (LWS).
Alistair presented ecology evidence as to the harm arising from the existing waste transfer operations and the benefits which would arise if this would cease along with other benefits to the LWS that would arise under the proposals.
In considering ecological matters the Inspector concluded that “I find this to represent a consideration of significant weight in favour of the proposal”.
The full decision can be found here.
The developer is very pleased with the outcome and commented “Marvellous news – early too! Faith hereby restored in the system. Thank you all for your help”.
