Dr Andy Bascombe joins Aspect Ecology as a Director

We are delighted to announce that Andy Bascombe has joined Aspect Ecology as a Director, bringing with him over 30 years’ experience in ecological consultancy. Andy’s consultancy career began at Arup where he started as their only ecologist and progressed to leading their ecology business. Andy’s consultancy experience progressed to Mouchel where he led their ecology team and worked particularly on large infrastructure projects. Mouchel later merged with WSP, creating a team of over 150 Ecologists where Andy was one of the Technical Directors leading the South East and London ecology team.

Andy holds particular experience in guiding large scale, complex projects through design, planning, appeal (if needed) and construction stages. Andy brings with him a wide range of survey and assessment skills and extensive knowledge of UK ecological policy and legislation. Over his career, he has worked on a wide range of projects for both public and private sector clients, with projects varying from small-scale renewable energy and urban development schemes to large-scale, high-profile developments such as the A5 Western Transport Corridor in Northern Ireland, HS2, the Eden Project and Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. Andy’s experience extends to overseas and he has provided innovative design solutions to challenging and complex projects in Europe, the Middle East and China including coastal reclamation projects, multi-modal transport schemes and sustainable city design.

We are very pleased to welcome Andy to our growing team.
