Appeal success! Planning permission granted following key expert witness evidence provided by Aspect Ecology.

Permission granted by the Planning Inspectorate for development in Brighton, following evidence presented by Dr Dan Simpson (Associate Director) as an expert witness.

Despite being identified as suitable to support development within a preliminary study undertaken on behalf of the Local Planning Authority, the developer found the site to have ecological, landscape and heritage sensitives, in part, given its setting adjacent to the South Downs National Park.

Ecological interests within the site included diverse grassland, Priority Species, and a plant identified as critically endangered; interests which under guidance from Aspect Ecology were considered under the proposals to ensure an appropriate mitigation strategy was devised. A strategy that would permit development, and still make a positive contribution to the local conservation objectives.
