Ecology: April 2017 – Success at appeal. Permission has been granted for 70 new homes in Bedfordshire following a public inquiry at which Alistair Baxter (Ecology Director) presented evidence as an expert witness.

The appeal scheme lies within close proximity of a County Wildlife Site. Alistair advised the inquiry in respect of the potential effects arising from the appeal proposals and the effect that the package of mitigation measures embedded into the proposals would achieve. In considering this matter in his decision, the Inspector set out “On this issue I conclude that the proposed development would not conflict with the biodiversity protection objectives of CSRIP policy CP25” and therefore fully endorsed the mitigation measures proposed by Aspect Ecology. The full decision can be found here. The developer is delighted with the result and remarked that “I can only add my thanks to all the team - we use the best!”.
